Great Grandparents Wedding Photo

My great grandparents, Julia and Theodore Knizewski, immigrated to America from Poland in the early 1900s for a better life. Teddy was in the army while Russia was trying to fight for more land. Originally, Teddy’s last name was Kurloch, but to escape the army and go to America, he took his mother’s maiden name, Knizewski. Julia and Teddy were both Polish, but they met in the US. Julia immigrated at age 14 while Teddy was in his mid-20s. A couple of years after they met, they had a wedding in New York City in a Polish church, where this picture was taken. They had 5 children together, one of whom, Adele, passed away this past August at age 98. The wedding photograph was passed down from my great grandparents to my great uncle Teddy, to my grandpa, and finally, to my aunt. Their story will keep being passed down for generations to come.
