Text Books
She had just moved to New York from Trinidad and Tobago, everything was new to her. We had some family here that taught her the rules of this harsh new city but a lot of things weren't easy to understand. Nine uneasy months later, I was born and everything changed. As I grew up, her mindset changed she knew she has to be able to support me and herself and live comfortably. So she enrolled in the Allen School of Health Services to gain an advantage for our well-being. Soon enough our apartment was full of these huge text books of all colors and sizes. Every night she would struggle to figure out words, so little me would always be there to help! I used to sound out words I didn't even know existed! We were both drawn so close together because of these books! And to this day words are still a great part of our relationship, we are always searching for new vocabulary to use and decipher the meaning to. Imagine me, a nine year old boy pronouncing words like "Dacryocystorhinostomy".
