My item is more of a representation of my life and my family rather than an item of it. I come from a firefighter family. My grandpa was forest firefighter. I have an in the fire department. And my dad has been a firefighter for 25 years now. What I’m trying to say is firefighting has always been a part of my life. I chose this truck because it’s a replica of a truck in the Kansas City area. I don’t know if that truck is still used today. If there was a replica of the trucks at my dad‘s station, I would use that. firefighting isn’t just a job. It’s a life style. One day these trucks will get passed down to me and my sisters, so will the helmets, so will the challenge coins and the medals, the pictures, all of it. It’s important in my life because not only is it my biological family but also the family I gained.
