Even though I barely know my mom’s side and so does she and how her family got her has long been forgotten we still of some relics of the past to show us what our ancestors did like the old MN police badge that my great grandfather had for being one of the first police members in Minneapolis ever back in around the 1900s showing how long my family has been here, he served for most of his life and some time during his service my grandfather attached his badge to an old rough leather belt that now it’s metal edge doesn’t shine as bright anymore and it’s once bright brown faded with time as well if it’s texture that's gotten rough with the passing of time no longer smooth as it once was and makes a creek when moved around with the metal now old it still is today with his name and police number still on the badge which he wore until he was promoted to a homicide detective and got a new badge though we still have the belt with his badge on it put somewhere for safe keeping and the feeling it gives is like the shine of a reflection off of glass and the look it gives me whenever i see it makes me feel how Minneapolis all the way back then.
