What brought me to New Orleans were good friends from college. What made me stay was the culture, vibrancy, and ease of daily life here. My house is what ties me to New Orleans. In 2001, I moved into the house as a renter. When I was evacuated for 2 months because of Katrina, the only way I could get to sleep was to imagine I was in my bedroom at my home. I was offered to purchase the home from the owner in 2006. Since then, I have lovingly restored it and have touched every inch with my own hands.
