I’m proud to come from a Mexican culture. Mexicans take great pride of their flag, La Bandera. The first flag was established in 1821 using the colors green, white and red. Green symbolizes hope, white symbolizes peace, and red symbolizes the blood of the soldiers who fought for the independence of Mexico. The picture in the middle of the flag is an emblem of the Mexican coat of arms based from the Aztec symbol of TENOCHTITLAN which is now Mexico City. It is important because the legend says the eagle was sitting on a cactus while eating a snake.  During the history the flag has change a lot of times as the design the coat of arms and the size of the flag were change but the same looks of an eagle holding snake on a cactus on a rock  that  is above the lake had remained the same. The coat of arms (which is the symbol on the flag) came from  an Aztec legend that their Gods told them to build a city where they spot an eagle on a nopal which is now Mexico City.
