My family doesn't really have any sort of heirloom or anything like that except land. When my parent's got engaged, my mom wanted to start one. Over the 11 years my parents have been engaged, the ring has been resized, replaced and many other things. About a week ago, my dad bought my mom a new one from a jewelry store she loves. Now my mom is 100% certain that I'm going to inherit this ring when I get engaged (even though I would rather not get married or anything like that). Yeah.
