This scissor was something a lot of women in our family used to fix clothing or add to their clothes as well. A kotobuki scissor is a Japanese styled threading scissor for sewing that common Asian families have used. My mom has used it, her mom has used it, and further back. This tool is also just simply used to cut the threads and is commonly used in my family for sewing. You would pinch it together to pick up a thread very gently and carefully or to cut the thread. Since me and my family are the first generation in the US (why I put the year of when I came and what generation I am) but this is something that has been used in pass generations throughout my family but it is a first in the US.
