Milk stool
My mother and father, Niels and Dagmar Hede, lost their business and home in the Depression in 1929. They had enough money to pay the back taxes on a farm in Askov, MN. We moved in 1933. The Danish Reading Circle of Minneapolis, MN gave them two milk stools and they were engraved with their initials, DH and NH. They were made by Jimmy Christiansen, a member of the Reading Circle, as a farewell gift. They never made it to the barn. They were always in the home, used as a stool for a snack table or for the children to play with. They are as good and as nice as they were 85 years ago.
