Fire Chiefs Helmet
The Bath Maine Fire Chief's Helmet connects my family to generations on my maternal grandmother's side of my family. This helmet was my great grandfather's, who was the Fire Chief in Bath, Maine, where my grandmother was born and raised. My mother was also born in Maine. This helmet has been in my family through generations and represents our connection to not only family but strength and courage. My great grandfather was born in 1886 and died at 83. Although I never met him, my grandmother often speaks of his bravery and leadership as Fire Chief. The helmet also connects my family through Maine as a vacation place for our family and fun.
