My mother always had the intention to leave China and come to the U.S, she wanted to come to the U.S for a good education because learning was her passion she came to the U.S in 1989. Other than education she also treasured something special to her, dumplings. Dumplings is a small ball of dough filled with meat or vegetable that is usually boiled, also dumplings were her favorite dish growing up, it was the only thing that she cherished. Dumplings were important to her because dumplings reminded her of her culture and her childhood before she immigrated from China. It is important to keep her heritage and share stories of immigrants in this country because it is important to realize that everyone honors this country for different reasons that made their life successful compared to where they originated.
