Dominican Money
My artifact is some type of money, which comes from Dominican Republic. I was born in Dominican Republic a few hours from the capital, Santiago. I came to the United States at seven years old. So, I only knew money that was Dominican, dollars was not something I had ever seen until I got here.Dominican money is important to me and my family because it represents the country of my parents and the country I was born in. The money is important to my family because we needed the money so we could buy stuff like: food, clothes, and the ticket to America. It was the Dominican money that paid for our way to America to get opportunities. What someone can learn from my artifact is that money has less value than America. A $2000 bill in Dominican Republic is called pesos. It approximately doubles in value once Dominican money is exchanged in America.
