Devotional Scapular
A good Goodbye
Marcelo used to be my boyfriend when I lived in Mexico. When I told I was going to move and we need it to break up he gave me this a "devotional scapular" consists of two small (usually rectangular) pieces of cloth, wood or laminated paper, a few inches in size, which may bear religious images or text. These are joined by two bands of cloth and the wearer places one square on the chest, rests the bands one on each shoulder and lets the second square drop down the back. When he gave it to me he said "I want to give you since I won’t be by your side anymore I want you to have God by your side now, and he will be able to protect you". This is important because the person who gave it to me it was someone that show me what love means and how much you can care about someone. I'm not a very religious person and he knew that, but either way he wanted me to be save. This reminds me of my country, Mexico, because people in Mexico we are like "God bless you" we always mention the name of God, we usually carry the image of God, to make us feel safe since all the insecurity we have in our country.
