Bull Horn Cap

This is a bull horn cap, it was used by my great grandfather in the 1920s and it was my grandfather’s as well. It belonged to Everett Francis Fogarty and Everett Francis Fogarty Jr. It was used on the pull oxen so their horns didn’t poke the other oxen or even people in the eyes. The object is brown and made out of a copper based material. The intended people that this was made for was farmers to cap the oxen’s horns. It is important because that is how my great grandfather made a living.
