Photo of Mother and Nanny
The two pictures that I have included as my artifact are pictures of two women who have an important part in my life, the first women is my mother and the second women is my nanny. Both of these pictures were taken in the Dominican Republic, in 2000 and 2001. These two women were an important part of my life growing up, they both helped raise me for the first five years of my life. They helped shape me into who I am today by teaching me morals and values that I will never forget. My mom took my nanny in because her family was very poor and she needed a job, so she worked for us and moved in with us as well. My father, who at the time was living in New York was the one who would send money for us and that was our source of income. Since young, I have been attached to my mother where ever I went. We were inseparable because I was always with her, the only other person I would want to be left with besides my mother was my nanny. We build a strong relationship, she would take me to school, pick me up from school, do my hair, put me to sleep, and would take me wherever she went she was part of my family. Both these women have taught me the importance of being kind to others no matter what their circumstances. My mother by taking my nanny in and helping her out in her hard times, taught me that helping others is important. My nanny was so kind and loving, she treated me like family and let no boundaries come between that.
