Kerosene lantern

Kerosene lantern This is a kerosene lantern, and it runs on kerosene which is a type of oil. It was used as a light source while working on railroads. The railroad that this lantern was used on is the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. This lantern has a metal frame with red glass inside. It was made by the company Dietz Vesta. These were used during the 1900s. My great grandfather Clifton Crawford used this while working. He benefited from the lantern because it gave him a light source while working. It is important because it belonged to my great grandfather, and it is a part of my family history. The lantern was passed down from my great grandfather to my grandfather, and now my mom has it.
