A Secret Language

My loved grandma.
My loved grandma.

I am the oldest of five children. I grew up with my grandmother in a little town of Peru called Chango Peru. While I was growing up, I spoke my native language, which is Quechua. My siblings grew up in the city, and they speak Spanish.  They don’t know much Quechua. These days, most of the people speak Spanish and few speak Quechua. It is important for me because it reminds me of my grandmother who I loved so much. In NYC this language helps me to talk with my mother by Skype, WhatsApp or Facetime, when she is in Peru, and I don’t want anyone to know what I am talking about.
