Every girl in my mom’s side of the family has at least one Willow Tree carving, and they're all different, suiting each girl in a special way, or symbolizing something about them. I didn’t have one until a Christmas or two ago. When I opened this precious gift from my mom, it meant so much to me for several reasons. It meant I was joining the tradition of these carvings, and it suited me in a special way because I was named after the Callalillies the girl is holding. I know that if I’m ever blessed with a girl of my own, I’ll continue this tradition and give one to her that’s as special as she is.
