This sterling silver was passed down from my great grandfather to my mother's parents. My great grandfather was disowned by his guardian, his uncle, for marrying a low class Jewish girl as opposed to a one from a higher economic bracket. Regretting his decision, the uncle later gifted the happy couple this set of silverware on their 25th anniversary.
