Wedding Rings
These cheap things very special sentimental value within my family. My grandmother and grandfather both had a very rough childhood. My grandfather was the youngest of 12 siblings after his mother immigrated from Italy to New York and they did not have very much money. my grandmother had a similar situation, she was raised in a poor side of Florida. They often discuss their past troubles with money and agreed that if they were to ever get married they would not want it to be lavish and extravagant. They both would’ve rather put that money towards their future. so when my grandfather purchased this very inexpensive set of rings and proposed to my grandmother she immediately said yes. After they married she never got another set of rings, she kept the dingy and rusting rings On her finger for 40 years. She never took them off even when she was battling cancer. after my grandmothers passing the rings were given to me and they symbolize the meaning of true love. Regardless of their financial situation and the circumstances that were brought upon them, my grandparents were happy to just be together. It was a beautiful thing to watch growing up and that’s why these rings are so meaningful.
