When I got this assignment the first thing I did was think to myself “what is really important that my father brought from Montserrat?”. Then I asked him and he said he had a volcanic rock. Volcanic rock is used for show or to remember monserrate in this case scenario.*The rock is made out of volcanic magma that hardens. It  looks like a regular rock on the outside with dark brown and green colors. On the inside it has light purple colored crystals.The crystals are different sizes and when you rub your hands on the rock it feels sharp and rough.*
The volcanic rock is important to my family because when the volcano on the island erupted it  damaged everything. That left my Father without a home and without a job. This object is important to my family because it reminds my father about the old fun times he had in Monserrate.
One question I had for my father was “did the volcano affect you and your brothers and sisters and family staying together”. his answer was “yes" because most of the family moved to england breaking apart from others.
