the Virgin Mary
This statue is The Lady of Guadalupe represents my parent's faith and prayers that guided them here to the United States. They met each other in Mexico and decided it was the best if they moved to America. My parents were from Hidalgo Mexico and came to the United States to get a better paying job and help support their families in Mexico. Also for us to get a better education. When they were on their way to America my mom brought her Statue of the Virgin. When it was time for them to cross the border my mom brought the statue with her. She had it since she was little because her dad passed away at a young age and that was one of the last gifts he gave to her. She used to take it to church to get blessed on her feast days. Ever since me and my brother grew up with it and prayed with it every night. It represents my parents/ family faith and how it has helped them through rough times and has been a symbol of hope for us.
