The Qur’an is one of the most meaningful books in my life. I am Fulani, from Guinea, and the Qur’an has been passed down through generations in my family. My Mom gave me a copy that once belonged to my grandmother, and with it she taught me not only how to read it, but also how to live by its teachings. It is more than just a holy book, it is a connection to my faith, my culture, and my family’s history. During Ramadan, Eid, and even in everyday prayer, the Qur’an brings peace and guidance into our home. Holding it reminds me of who I am and where I come from. No matter where life takes me, the Qur’an will always be a symbol of my identity, my values, and the strength of my family’s traditions.  In the future I will carry on the traditions of my family with my own children even though I’m living in the United States.
