The Sewing Machine

My great great grandma had a passion for sewing. My great great grandmother, Bertha Weintraub Forman, immigrated from Ukraine to America. When she immigrated she was only 16 and she went came to America by herself so she could only bring very little belongings with her.  One thing that stood out that she brought to America with her was this wooden sewing box. A sewing box is a square box that can contain sewing materials. These materials could be needles and different colored threads, etc. But sewing boxes could also be used for many other purposes such as storage for clothes, food and water. These sewing boxes were also used to store jewels and money. This would be good for jewels and money because it would be an unexpected place to hide valuables. The Sewing Machine is inside of this box.
