For the project I interviewed my mom and she is Dominican. The object that she chose was a bible. A bible is basically a book that people read that serves to instruct us everyday. This object connects to her identity/culture because in our family we have a custom to read the bible. She left the country because my dad (her husband) lived in this country and they wanted to have a family together; also because there are more opportunities here. She came to this country in March 31, 2009. She was pulled to this country because she wanted a better life. This object is important to her because it was a wedding gift and it is a part of her identity and culture.
