I interviewed my godmother (Adela Martinez). She is from Puebla, Mexico. She came to the United States on August 27 of 2015. That day her plane landed in John F. Kennedy. She had a visa to work. She wanted to work lot. Before she came, a Jewish family went to Mexico and offered her a job. So she said “yes,” and she got a visa to come and work in the United States. She worked for weeks and earned a lot of money. On her days off she would walk around Manhattan or go walk near the Hudson River. She brought a talavera to remember Mexico. A talavera is a bowl made out of ceramic. A talavera shows decoration and symbolizes Poblana culture. She thinks that immigrate to the USA make her like an American because America is fulled of immigrants.
