Shirdi Sai Baba Bracelet
During the summer of 2014, my ten year-old self watched a really scary movie. Upon watching the movie, I was instantly petrified and paranoid with the thought that ghosts may be lurking around my house, waiting to catch and eat me anytime soon. Later that day, when my paranoia worsened, I went to my grandmother for comfort. With a calm and comforting look on her face, my grandmother then gave me this Shirdi Sai Baba bracelet which she said would protect me all times. In our Hindu culture, Shirdi Sai Baba is a saint who is the prime embodiment of pure divine and love. Since the day I first received it six years ago up until today, this bracelet has helped me go through all my toughest and most challenging times. From surviving Nepal’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake to moving and starting a new life here in the United States, I thank this bracelet that my grandmother gave me for acting as a symbol of hope, strength, and most importantly, protection.
