Rosary
I chose this rosary because it reminds me of my family in Costa Rica. Firstly, my family is a very religious and emotional family. We go to church every Sunday and always keep faith in God. My grandmother reminds me of the Virgin Mary because of her actions. My grandmother has a kind soul and pushes me to try my hardest. Secondly, I chose this rosary because my aunts, uncles, and grandma would pray the entire rosary every night. Just seeing the picture of a rosary reminds me of them. I would always pray with them and make sure I am internally healed. This also shows how much they care about this rosary. Lastly, I personally connect with rosaries because I have my own. My own rosary has my birthstone on it and is made of metal, which is enough to have me fully grateful and proud of this rosary. I keep it in my room where I work, so I make sure that the Virgin Mary is always watching me. Lastly, this shows how religion has an effect on immigrant communities. My father told me how he came to New York and all the troubles along the way. However, he always had his rosary close and told me that it protected him from harm. Nevertheless, I believe that rosaries are a good luck charm and keep me comforted.
