The object I chose to represent my family history would be an old sewing machine my mother had brought over from China when she still lived there. This sewing machine was used for her work and personal reasons. It came from her own mother (my grandmother) who passed it on to her. The sewing machines is her reminder of the home she left behind in order to provide her own daughters a better life with more opportunity. It is special because it reminds her of the hard work she endured in order to come to a new country.
