Seafood Gumbo
My recipe is seafood gumbo. It is a traditional southern food. It comes from Louisiana. My grandmother passed the recipe down to my mother and my mother makes it during special occasions. My grandmother is originally from South Carolina.
It’s made out of shrimp, sausage, rice, corn, okra, mussels, and lastly chopped crab meat. Gumbo is a soup that we eat on holidays.
This recipe means a lot to my family. My grandma used to make it and now it’s passed down to my mother. Me and my mother now carry on the tradition on making seafood gumbo. We make it together on holidays like Easter and Christmas.
This recipe means a lot to me because this is a traditional food we eat on holidays. When we eat the gumbo I think of how my grandma might be cooking it if she were still alive today.
