Old Salt Shakers

My object is an old salt shaker from Ireland. It was once used to apply salt to food but as of now we can’t take the top off of it so it serves no real function except for remembering my heritage. We do use it on some special occasions. My family brings it out on Christmas and Saint Patrick's Day for symbolism. This is a tradition in my family and we have been doing it for years. The pair of salt shakers were passed down from my great great grandpa from Ireland. My mom showed them to me as it was passed down from her side of the family. The salt shakers are important because it is the only thing that my family has that shows our Irish heritage. It has materials that are only from Ireland and has a traditional design. Other than that it is nothing special. The salt shakers were passed down from Ireland down to me. It is over 100 years old and has remained relatively in good condition.
