rosary
My grandmother raised me in the Dominican Republic. Since she lives in the Dominican Republic and I live in New York we don't see each other as often. She doesn't like to come to New York. She will make excuses why she can't come. When I traveled to see her she gave me three gifts. But my rosary meant more to me over time. My rosary stood out to me. It means a lot to me because my grandmother is the only one I'm very open and comfortable with. I'm also religious. I'm catholic. My religion makes me who I am. It's a part of me.It reminds me of our memories of going to church together. I haven't seen her in a year. Since she gave me her rosary I feel I still have a piece of her when we are not together. Sometimes I will wear the rosary. Since she knows I don't wear my rosary a lot of the time. She told me to take it everywhere with me. I won't go anywhere without my rosary. It makes me know that god and my grandmother are with me everywhere I go.
