Ring

My object that I chose is a ring my mom bought me and my sisters. The ring looks very basic, but the symbolism behind it can not be replaced. My dad was in the military for 22 years. So most of my life I moved around a lot and also wasn't with my dad most of the time. So my mom and my sisters became extremely close because our dad would be deployed. So throughout my life we always had something that connected the girls of the house. This was sometimes a necklace, sweatshirts, or a blanket. The one object that I have kept with me all this time is a ring that my mom gave me, and bought them for my sisters as well. It is copper, has brasses over time and had a tile pattern. I don't wear rings that much, but this one I wear wherever I go. It was with me on my 18th birthday, it was with me when my grandmother passed away. So over time the meaning as evolved from something that keeps me connected with my dad to a comfort item that connects me to all important moments in my life.
