This is a Korean hanbok. The hanbok is a very colorful type of dress that has been popular in Korea for thousands of years. This particular one up above belongs to the mother of one of my friends from high school. In 1982, she came to the Chicagoland area from South Korea in search of a better life. She brought this hanbok with her because she wanted to remind her future children of their Korean ancestry.
