My ring was a gift to me a few years ago after my great grandmother passed away. The diamonds on the band of the ring come from her wedding ring. My great grandmother was married during the Great Depression, so it was a big deal that she even had a ring back then. When she passed away, her wedding ring was given to my grandmother because she was the oldest. My grandma then had the ring disassembled and the diamonds were equally split for three separate rings. Now my grandma, myself, and my cousin all have a ring with diamonds from the original ring and our birth stones.
