Embroidery Machine
This sewing machine was the first that my husband Johnny and I owned at the start of our embroidery business in Luling, Louisiana. We began our business in 2003 and continue to embroider a plethora of items for all of St. Charles Parish. After a couple of years, we were able to purchase bigger equipment, including a 16-head professional embroidery machine. I was born and raised in Venezuela. In 1988, I made my first trip to New Orleans with my young son in order to visit my sister. Upon realizing that my visa was approved for an entire year, I decided to extend my visit from the original plan of 3 months. During my stay, I met Johnny Polk and we were married in 1989. Because of the current political climate and economic crisis in Venezuela, I am in a constant whirlwind of trying to get family and friends out of Venezuela and into countries that will allow them refuge.
