Regina Music Box
My object is my Mema and Papa’s old Regina Music Box from the late 1800’s. I have a lot of memories of this as a kid, and I always remember going to her house and asking her to play something on it. I don’t see it as much because it is at a different house now that they own in Mayview Missouri. There were always calming songs, and we would all sit around and listen. We eventually got curious about how it looked and how it worked so my Mema told us about the gears that are in it and what the notches on the metal plate worked. It is made from wood, copper, and metal. It is very smooth on the outside, but the gears are rough to make the music noise, and it is very delicate now being so old. I think it can teach us lessons about the different generations and the love that each generation gives it. If it could talk, I would want to ask about my great grandparents and what my grandparents were like as kids. Also, what is the song that has been played the most and how many songs have been played on it. I will always remember the music box as one of the best memories with my Mema and Papa.
