Recipe Box
My mom gave me this recipe box around 3rd - 4th grade when I started showing interest in cooking. This recipe box has family history to it. My mom got the recipe box from her mother, and her mother got the box from her mother - my great nana. I asked my mom if she knew why and when my great nana started writing down these recipes and putting them in this box. She told me she assumed it was because she wanted to pass down her recipes and she isn’t sure when she started writing the recipes she just knows it was before she was born…1986. There have been recipes added throughout the years by my nana and my mom and I plan on adding recipes of my own to hopefully pass down to my child. When I received the box I decided to laminate the cards because I didn’t want them to get destroyed and the cards became too big to fit in the original box so I got the clear box to place them in and I just won’t get rid of the original recipe box. The recipe I chose to showcase was her Southern Biscuits recipe because it was the first one I made by myself and out of all of the ones I have made, this recipe is my favorite.
