The Puerto Rican flag isn't just a piece of fabric. It's something that isn't just special to me, but to a lot of Puerto Ricans. When my family sees the flag, we can look at the history behind it. The Puerto Rican flag is special to me because even though I don't speak Spanish, it's something that is apart of me and it is apart of my life and will be forever. I had interviewed my mom and I asked her what it meant to her and she had told me "it means the country where my family originated from." Whenever I go to Puerto Rico, I remember sitting on the beautiful beaches and looking at that amazing flag just makes me feel true to my roots. Fun fact: the current flag is not the original flag that it used to be.
