Presidential Busts
My great grandmother made these presidential busts of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln out of ceramic. We currently own them and they’re stashed away in a safe place. I never heard much about her from my family until my Dad told me that she had passed away. When that happened, my Dad told me all he knew about her. She came to America from Mexico for better living opportunities; however, she had to hide the fact that she spoke Spanish and even changed her name to sound American. She married an American man and then had a child who was my Granny. Then my Granny married and had three children who are my father, aunt, and uncle. I can’t remember when we were given the busts, but it was very interesting to me knowing that they were made by her despite not knowing much about her.
