My object is the ring my grandfather received for graduating podiatry school. My mother received it when my grandfather passed away in 2001 after doctors cut his colon accidentally in an operation. It is particularly important to me because I am told I am like my grandfather and that I have many qualities he possessed. Additionally, I would like to help people, not in a medical sense, but help in a legal sense. It is important to my family because he was a first generation Russian immigrant, and the fact that he could get a medical degree in podiatry was a gigantic feat for the family. It reminds me that anything is possible no matter how small or how big, when there is a will there is a way.
