My object is a gold and silver necklace my great grandmas have gifted to my mother and my siblings and now to me. My great grandmother is originally from Guanajuato Mexico where she bought the necklace for her first baby. This necklace has a lot of meaning to my family because it reminds my mom of her childhood and it reminds me to keep my family close to my heart. My brother was gifted this necklace after my older sister committed suicide. Although he no longer wears it because he is now in the United States Marine Corps so he passed it down to me so now I wear it to remember my brother and my sister. My mom moved around a lot as a kid and she wore this necklace to remind her of her home in Guanajuato. This necklace is a big part of my family and I hope to pass down the gold cross necklace to my kids one day.
