This Pizzelle Maker was has been passed down for 3-4 generations. Originally, it was my great-grandmother's then it was passed down to my grandmother's then to my mother and now its been passed down to me. Pizzelles play a big role in my family's culture and food, especially at my mom's family parties. Even though, I don't know many people who know what pizzelles are, where my mom's family lives in Pennsylvania they are very common and popular. They are known as the oldest cookies, originating in Italy where my grandmother's family is from. Not only is the actual pizzelle maker a part of my family, but so is the recipe that has been passed through generation with the maker. My great-grandma was known for her pizzelles and I am so glad that I am able to carry on the tradition and I will continue to pass down this piece of our family.
