Back when I was three, I used to be extremely impatient. Whenever I wanted something, I wanted it now. My parents had no trouble buying me anything I wanted, but if they have to put up with trouble, that’s where it crosses the line. My parents were fed up, eventually they talked to my grandma about it, she came up with something. She gave me a piggybank chick to help me save up money towards that toy I wanted. Since saving money takes time, I had to learn to be patient, with the hope that eventually I was gonna get that toy I wanted. I can now see at a deeper level that she wanted to teach me patience, not just about saving money towards something, but working towards a goal I want. If my dream is to become the first generation to get a higher education, then I have to be persistent, disciplined, and patient. Don't expect to make a giant leap towards that goal, whether it's a lot everyday, a little bit everyday, or making some one day and the other not, that's still discipline. But what matters the most is being patient.
