Relationship: Child of im/migrant

The object that I have chosen to elaborate on is a photo of my parents and I at the time of my adolescence. My Papa established dreams of his own as a youth and was dismally propelled to give those up. Due to the circumstances life brought forth his way after his mother's death that included financial instability, he could not pursue them. His father forced him to work. As a he grew older and desired better pay to maintain a family, he migrated to the United States with my mother and three children. He initially wanted to go to school and become a professor, but his dreams were unattainable being given his conditions. I am essentially living the dream my father longed for. I am not more worthy than he, at deserving such opportunities. Our circumstances in life were just different. He provided the paved way for me to succeed that he was denied, all meanwhile being an immigrant and placed in a position of disadvantage. My mother alongside him has passionately and voluntarily chosen to contribute to the acquirement of a better lifestyle. A lifestyle in which their children would not suffer as they had suffered. As consequence of their hard work, I have not experienced hunger, agony, or uncertainty of my future.
