My grandfather is someone who has never stopped working, even now that he is ninety-two years old. As I am writing this, he still tries to get outside, trim bushes and work on basic home improvements around the house. His endless passion for things to do may be something just to fill the time or truly a work ethic like no other, he is always seeking the best out of everything. When my grandfather bought his navy sword as a lieutenant in the late nineteen fifties, it was a necessary purchase needed for formal naval events. It may have just been a fancy sword then, but now it represents a turning point to a path where he would reap the benefits of his hard work. He has been around the world with this sword, wearing it to every formal change of command and climbing the ranks throughout his forty years in the navy. The sword engraved with my grandfather's name, which has rested over the fireplace will be passed on as a family heirloom. It will represent an endless work ethic and always passion for success for any fireplace it hangs above. -WH
