The voter turnout in most local elections in New York City is incredibly low. Last year, I joined CUP (Center for Urban Pedagogy) to combat this inconvenience. During my time with CUP, I studied the important roles of local government agencies, the process of law formulation, and interviewed a plethora of government officials. This work was done in order to accurately create the "Our Voice, Our Choice" pamphlet, which would not only inform people on why voting in local elections is important but persuade them into becoming more involved in this democratic process, as well.
