Newspaper clipping
This is a picture of a newspaper clipping from the Berkshire Eagle which is hanging in my hallway. It is written about my grandfather, Sergio Lavagnino, and his business in America. He was born in Italy and lived there during WW2. After the war he moved to England and taught Italian at a school called Berlitz, and a few years later he got a visa and moved to America were he started a business selling gabions. Gabions are an Italian technique used to prevent soil erosion. His company was called Terra Acqua which means earth water in Italian. I look up to my grandfather because he had a lot of grit because he started out traveling around the country in his car selling Gabions. My grandfather never gave up, which is why he was successful. I aspire to be like him when I grow up and have the grit that he had
