My Menorah
By Vivi Platt
My object is my great-grandmother's menorah. It is from Israel. My family uses it for Hanukkah most years. We have another, bigger menorah that we also use because the candles fit better; but we always have my great-grandmother’s menorah out too. It is made out of a shining silver. It looks like a trophy with candle slots!
My menorah is important to my family because it reminds us of my great-grandmother and an important holiday to us. It teaches us about Hanukkah.
I would like to know more about how and when my great-grandmother got the menorah. Even though my great-grandmother passed away when I was two and I don’t remember her, I feel like she is with us on that special holiday because of her menorah.
