My object is a güira.  The güira is a musical instrument made in the Dominican Republic.  The history behind it is, my father gave it to me when I was little.  The güira is a made of metal with horizontal oval holes.  Its color is silver.  It’s very important to me, because it reminds me of when I was little and played a lot.  Over there, this güira is about 500 pesos; it’s over 15 years old.  I used it at Christmas and family parties, together with my brother, who keeps it.  I am thankful to my father for this beautiful gift that he gave us with so much love.
